Melitin causes increased blood circulation, and as a result, the inner layers of the skin start incrased production of elastin and collagen. Studies have also shown that Melitin can increase production of keratinocyte - skin cells that act as a protective barrier against external factors. Keratinocytes are located in the surface layer of the skin and shortage of keratinocytes can accelerate skin aging process.
